New England Organbuilders is dedicated to the careful design, restoration, construction, and maintenance of pipe organs. With over 20 years experience building, tuning and restoring organs, we are qualified to maintain and tune all types of pipe organs. We are experienced in both large and small rebuilds of electro pneumatic, electric, slider, and variations on these actions, and are able to build matching chest work for seamless additions to most organs. Meeting our customers’ needs is our highest priority.

Our Mission:
To provide pipe organs and services of quality and distinction to institutions and individuals at a reasonable cost, requiring minimal maintenance and tuning. New organs are designed for the commissioning institution, conceived using historic principles. No aspect of our tonal work, including pipe materials, scaling or voicing is stock, standard, or otherwise pattern. Tunings and maintenance are performed at our usual high standard of service.

About The Builder
Mr. Christopher Walton, having worked for many years in the organ industry and coming from a background of building organs, formed New England Organbuilders in order to build instruments in a historically inspired manner.
Mr. Walton studied organ and church music at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ with Eugene Roan. While a student, he performed with the New York Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra, New Jersey Symphony, and the American Symphony Orchestra under such conductors as Riccardo Muti, Kurt Masur, Robert Shaw, Hugh Wolff, and Zubin Mehta. He helped maintain the school's 24 pipe organs and has performed at the request of the Philadelphia chapter of the American Guild of Organists. He currently serves as organist and director of music at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Danielson, Connecticut.
Mr. Walton has maintained, built and restored numerous organs, including a new organ for the home of Dr. Joseph Flummerfelt, which was first heard publicly at the Bach Festival in Princeton, NJ. His tunings have been requested as far away as Florida. Chris lives in eastern Connecticut with his two children.
